COLUMBUS— State Representative Gayle Manning (R-North Ridgeville) announced today that the Ohio Controlling Board has approved funds to purchase equipment for Lorain County Community College (LCCC). This money will go toward the purchase of equipment identified in the Regionally Aligned Priorities in Delivering Skills (RAPIDS) grant 2019, the maternal and neonatal simulation system and a pediatric simulator for the Erie, Huron and Ottowa Vocational Education (EHOVE) Career Center partnership program in Milan and Erie Counties.

“LCCC has a proven record of providing quality education, playing a key role in Ohio's workforce development,” Manning said. "With this additional funding, the college will have resources it needs to continue investing in students for years to come.”

The controlling board released $46,882 to LCCC for the purchase of simulation mannequins for students enrolled in the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at the EHOVE health career center. These mannequins will be used for competency evaluations and are specific to Health & Wellness Sciences Education.

The model that will be purchased with these funds is a Maternal, Neonatal and Pediatric Simulation System and includes a cesarean abdominal cover, monitors, scenario builders and streaming audio capabilities.
