Representative Click Highlights New Round of Demolition and Site Revitalization Grants
COLUMBUS, Ohio – State Representative Gary Click (R-Vickery) today announced that the Ohio Department of Development has released guidelines for the latest round of funding through the Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program, which helps communities tear down unsafe and vacant structures to prepare sites for future development.
In House Bill 96, Ohio’s State Operating Budget, the General Assembly appropriated $20 million in funding each year for continued success of the program. The application opens October 29 at 10 a.m. and closes November 19 at 5 p.m.
“Remediation of deteriorating properties creates opportunities to transform disadvantages into possibilities and opportunities for growth,” said Click. “I’m excited to see how our communities will maximize the potential these dollars carry with them.”
The Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program provides funding to counties to help eliminate vacant and deteriorated commercial and residential structures. Approximately $230,000 in grant funding will be reserved for each of Ohio’s 88 counties, with funds available until July 1, 2026.
These projects have transformed abandoned and unsafe sites into areas ready for redevelopment, contributing to local economic growth and improved quality of life.
The Department of Development will also host a webinar on October 22 at 10 a.m. to review the program guidelines in detail and answer questions from interested applicants.
