Rep. Rogers Stands in Solidarity with United Auto Workers

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Elgin Rogers (D-Toledo) extends his support to the United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW) as they begin their strike.

“This is America, we do not have second class workers. We want our workers to have safe jobs with great pay and great benefits. These workers build the vehicles and machines that transport people and essential goods such as food, medicine, and toiletries across the world. Last night, I stood on the picket lines to welcome the women and men of the UAW as they continued to negotiate for fair treatment, better wages, and safer working conditions. During this difficult time, we ask that everyone stand with and pray for the workers and their families,” said Rep. Rogers. 

In Northwest Ohio, UAW 14 continues work as General Motors’ Toledo Propulsion Systems Facility is not part of the initial strike plan, while UAW 12 workers from Stellantis’ Toledo Jeep Assembly Complex began striking at midnight.
