Rep. Rogers Honors Ohio Veterans and Service Members

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Elgin Rogers, Jr. (D-Toledo) recently spoke on the Ohio House floor in support of Senate Bill (SB) 223, legislation aimed at expanding access to discounts at Ohio state parks and recreational facilities for veterans and service members.

“Our gratitude to veterans should not end with words, it should be reflected in action,” said Rep. Rogers. “To those who have sacrificed so much for this nation, we owe more than thanks, we owe support, dignity, and opportunities to enjoy the freedoms they defended.”
 
SB 223 builds upon Ohio’s existing discount programs by extending affordable recreational opportunities to those who have served in the United States Armed Forces. The legislation seeks to improve quality of life for veterans and military families through increased access to outdoor recreation, family activities, and restorative experiences in Ohio’s parks and public spaces.
