Rep. Rogers Honored to be Nominated for the "Friend of the Profession" Award by the Ohio Dental Hygienists' Association

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Elgin Rogers, Jr. (D-Toledo) today is honored to be awarded the 2025 Friend of the Profession Award by the Ohio Dental Hygienists' Association (ODHA) for his leadership on House Bill (HB) 207, the Male Wellness Month Act.
"I am deeply humbled to receive this recognition from the Ohio Dental Hygienists' Association," said Rep. Rogers. "This legislation is about saving lives and encouraging men to prioritize their physical and oral health. Far too often, men delay care until it's too late. By normalizing preventive checkups and dental visits, we are helping Ohio families stay healthier and communities grow stronger."
HB 207 designates June as Male Wellness Month and the third Monday of June as Take Your Dad to the Doctor and Dentist Day, also known as DAD Day. The bill promotes preventive health screenings such as prostate exams, colonoscopies, and mental health checkups, along with regular dental visits, among men in rural, urban, and suburban communities across Ohio
Rep. Rogers continues his work to promote accessible, preventive healthcare and to break down barriers that prevent men from seeking routine medical and dental attention.
