COLUMBUS — State Rep. Elgin Rogers Jr. (D-Toledo) today announced that $9K in state funding has been awarded to District 42 through the Ohio Commission on Minority Health to support Minority Health Month programming in Lucas County.

“This funding will help strengthen local efforts to address long-standing health inequities and uplift our community through prevention, education, and engagement,” said Rep. Rogers. “Investments in people and our healthcare infrastructure are critical to ensuring that every Ohioan, regardless of zip code, income, or background, has access to information and resources that support healthier lives.”

The grant, awarded to the Toledo Office of Minority Health, will support community-based outreach, education, and engagement efforts focused on improving health outcomes and increasing awareness of health disparities affecting minority communities.

The funding is part of the Ohio Commission on Minority Health’s ongoing commitment to advancing health equity across the state by supporting locally driven initiatives that respond to community needs.

Rep. Rogers thanked the Ohio Commission on Minority Health for its continued partnership and emphasized the importance of sustained investment in programs that prioritize public health, prevention, and community trust.

“I appreciate the Commission’s dedication to improving health and their recognition of the important work happening here in Lucas County,” concluded Rep. Rogers. “I look forward to seeing the positive impact this program will have on our district.”
