COLUMBUS– State Rep. Dontavius Jarrells (D-Columbus) today announced the temporary boost to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which was put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic, will end after February.

In March of 2020, Congress authorized a temporary increase to SNAP allotments, part of a strategy to help low-income families deal with the hardships of the coronavirus pandemic. During this period, SNAP households received an additional $95 in benefits or an additional benefit valued up to the maximum benefit for their household size, whichever amount was greater.

“With the extra pandemic SNAP benefits ending in Ohio, I want all Ohioans to know that there are more resources available to help individuals and families,” said Rep. Jarrells. “If you need assistance, please call my office and we will help you find the resources you need.”

Assistance is available at the Franklin County Department of Job and Family Services. Their website is https://jfs.franklincountyohio.gov/ and they can be reached at 1-844-640-6446.
