Rep. Jarrells Announces $200K Supporting Construction & Renovation Efforts

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Dontavius L. Jarrells (D-Columbus) today announced that the Ohio Controlling Board has approved nearly $200K in state funding. The importance of this funding lies in improving the condition of a Columbus State University building and supporting construction at the Columbus Developmental Center.

“When we invest in the spaces where people learn, work, receive care, and build their futures, we strengthen the foundation of our communities. These investments will help improve facilities at Columbus State and support important construction efforts at the Columbus Developmental Center, ensuring these institutions can continue serving Central Ohio families with excellence and dignity. I’m grateful to see these projects receive support because our communities deserve infrastructure that reflects the value and potential of the people inside of it,” said Rep. Jarrells.

The items approved were:

• Item #14: $71K awarded to Columbus State for renovations at Rhodes Hall.
• Item #45: $108K awarded to DODD for construction services at the Columbus Developmental Center.
