COLUMBUS — State Rep. Sean Patrick Brennan (Parma) this week announced the passage of House Bill (HB) 130 out of the Ohio House Medicaid Committee. If enacted, this bill would require the Department of Medicaid to take a consumer-focused approach and notify Ohioans in layman’s terms of the Medicaid Estate Recovery Program at the time of application and when they are approved to be a Medicaid recipient.

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Sean Patrick Brennan (Parma) this week submitted an amendment to House Bill (HB) 96, Ohio’s 2026-2027 operating budget, that would strip language authorizing the Ohio Treasurer of State’s office to issue and sell bonds in the amount of up to $600 million to assist in funding a new Cleveland Browns Stadium in the City of Brook Park.

Desiree Tims (D-Dayton) today voted “NO” on the Republican state operating budget, House Bill (HB) 96, because it arbitrarily and recklessly slashes critical state funding areas while failing to benefit everyday Ohioans. Rather than provide real and meaningful support to Ohio’s citizens, House Republicans chose to dismantle the constitutional and bipartisan fair school funding formula, dump more taxpayer money into vouchers for charter non-public and private schools that benefit the wealthiest Ohioans, and authorize a $600M handout to billionaires to build a new Browns stadium outside of Cleveland amidst opposition by local leaders.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Sean Patrick Brennan (Parma) today helped pass the bipartisan Ohio Transportation Budget (House Bill 54) through the Ohio House of Representatives. The budget’s appropriation of $11.5B is a significant investment into the future of Ohio jobs, connecting the workforce to the worksite, and the bill will improve roads, bridges, and transit systems across Ohio.

Blackshear Jr. (D-Dayton) today sent a letter to Governor Mike DeWine respectfully requesting he line-item veto specific provisions in House Bill (HB) 54, the Ohio Transportation Budget, that specifically targets the Greater Dayton RTA and would require it to enter into a contract with local law enforcement for safety services. The Greater Dayton RTA already contracts with local law enforcement at one of its most prominent transfer hubs.

COLUMBUS – State Rep.
