COLUMBUS – The Ohio House Democratic Caucus today held a voting caucus where it selected Cincinnati's Ashley Bryant Bailey as its selection to fill the Ohio House District 26 seat recently vacated by former state Rep. Sedrick Denson. 

COLUMBUS – Ohio House Minority Leader Dani Isaacsohn (D-Cincinnati) today released to following statement concerning the failure by House Republicans to refer House Bill 442, Ohio Democrats introduced fair and constitutional congressional map, to an Ohio House committee where it can receive public hearings: 

COLUMBUS - House Minority Leader Dani Isaacsohn (D-Cincinnati) and Senate Democratic Leader Nickie J. Antonio (D-Lakewood) today introduced legislation putting forth the fairest congressional redistricting proposal in recent years. Democrats are introducing their redistricting plan now to comply with Ohio’s September 30 deadline for the General Assembly to pass a bipartisan map.

COLUMBUS – Ohio House Minority Leader Dani Isaacsohn (D-Cincinnati) and Senate Democratic Leader Nickie J. Antonio (D-Lakewood) today announced that the Ohio House of Representatives and Senate has opened a public submissions portal where citizens can now submit their own congressional maps to be considered during the upcoming redistricting process. COLUMBUS – The Ohio House Democratic Caucus today is calling for a public apology from Rep. Jennifer Gross (R-West Chester) for sharing  a post from a known far-right account attacking Rep. Ismail Mohamed (D-Columbus) for his celebration of diversity and citizenship and for uplifting the importance of voting as citizens of the United States of America. 

COLUMBUS – Ohio House Minority Leader Dani Isaacsohn (D-Cincinnati) today released to following statement concerning Governor Mike DeWine’s decision to send 150 National Guard members to support the District of Columbia National Guard: 

COLUMBUS – House Minority Leader Dani Isaacsohn (D-Cincinnati) today voted “NO” on the vote to override a school district property tax levy restriction provision vetoed in House Bill 96 (the state operating budget). Line-item 66 would eliminate several types of levies, limiting the choices voters have in how to support their schools and local governments, and would not provide real property tax relief to Ohioans. Real property tax relief is one of the most pressing needs for everyday Ohioans. House Democrats are ready and willing to work together to get that done.
