COLUMBUS—State Rep. D.J. Swearingen is pleased to announce that the Parents’ Bill of Rights, priority legislation for the 135th General Assembly, was signed into law today. 

COLUMBUS—The Parents’ Bill of Rights, priority legislation for the 135th General Assembly, was recently sent to Ohio Governor Mike DeWine for a signature, announced bill sponsor, State Rep. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron). 

COLUMBUS—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine yesterday signed House Bill 81 into Ohio law, announced State Rep. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron). Incorporated into the bill are two measures sponsored by Swearingen. 

COLUMBUS—The Ohio House of Representatives today passed Substitute House Bill 2, the state’s two-year construction budget for capital projects throughout the state, announced State Rep. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron).  The bill will allocate more than $4.2 billion for capital projects, including $717 million in one-time project funding from the Strategic Community Investment Fund.

COLUMBUS –The Ohio House of Representatives today passed House Bill 230, legislation to directly combat drug and human trafficking in Ohio, announced bill sponsor, State Rep. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron). Swearingen sponsored the legislation alongside State Rep. Cindy Abrams (R-Harrison).  

COLUMBUS— The House Transportation Committee today passed House Bill 335, legislation to designate a portion of State Route 163 in Ottawa County as Ottawa County Veterans Memorial Highway, announced bill sponsor, State Rep. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron).

COLUMBUS – State Rep. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) today provided sponsor testimony before the House Commerce and Labor Committee on House Bill 327, which will require employers to use the E-Verify program, a free internet-based program to help employers verify work authorization of new hires.
