State Representatives Ron Ferguson (R-Wintersville) today announces the approval of $4 million for the Monroe County Port Authority. The funding was approved during Monday’s State Controlling Board meeting.

COLUMBUS, OHIO – Today, State Representative Sarah Fowler Arthur (R-Ashtabula) and State Representative Ron Ferguson (R- Jefferson, Monroe and Belmont) filed House Bill 563 to protect the rights of Ohioans to use their property as a short-term rental (STR). The bill seeks to eliminate the development of regulations that would place outright bans on STRs and limit the duration of use, it does not prohibit the ability of municipalities to regulate STRs, it only ensures that STRs be subjected to the same regulations as long-term rentals and that those regulations address public safety or nuisance issues.

COLUMBUS - The state controlling board has approved the release of funding for two projects in Ohio’s 96th district, State Representative Ron Ferguson announced today.

State Rep. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) announces more than $12 million in Great Lakes grants that will be used to help reduce the amount of debris that gets put into Lake Erie. Swearingen applauded the initiative.

State Rep. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) announces that the Governor has signed Senate Bill 4 and it will now become law.  Earlier this month, the Ohio House approved the bill with Swearingen’s amendment that aides $555 million to state construction in support of local schools and infrastructure projects.

State Rep. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) introduced House Bill 692, which will modernize and update how estate planning documents, such as wills and trusts, are finalized within the state. Swearingen testified on the legislation during its hearing in the House Civil Justice Committee.

State Rep. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) voted to support House Bill 13 - one of the Ohio House’s priority pieces of legislation - that will help to expand broadband to the nearly one million Ohioans lacking a reliable internet connection, including 300,000 households having no broadband options. The significant legislation passed in the Ohio House earlier today.

As joint sponsors, State Representatives Jeff LaRe (R-Violet Township) and D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) today voted to support their bill that will bring revenue and safety to businesses. The legislation passed in the Ohio House with a vote of 84-8.

Since returning to the Statehouse a few weeks ago, the Ohio House of Representatives have been hard at work as significant, bipartisan legislation have been recently passed for the people across our state. As your State Representative, I wanted to give you an update on these bills and the Business Expansion and Safety Act, which I have been recently testifying on and supporting down at our Capitol.

State Rep. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) joined his House colleagues today in unanimously passing House Bill 405, the Family Forward Act, which creates the Adoption Linked Deposit Program to help remove financial barriers for families wanting to adopt. Swearingen is a co-sponsor of the legislation.
