Swearingen Appointed as Chair of Economic and Workforce Development Committee

State Rep D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) has been appointed by Ohio House Speaker Jason Stephens (R-Kitts Hill) as Chair of the House Economic and Workforce Development Committee for the 135th General Assembly.

“I’ve always been committed to policies that prioritize an economic environment where businesses thrive and the people of Ohio have good-paying job opportunities so that they can have the support they need in raising their families,” said Swearingen. “I’m excited that I get to take the lead in the House on this important priority for Ohioans as Chair of the Economic and Workforce Development Committee and am grateful to Speaker Stephens for his confidence in me.”

During the previous General Assembly, Swearingen served as Vice Chair of the Criminal Justice Committee and as a member of the Finance, Civil Justice and Primary and Secondary Education Committees.

“I believe Representative Swearingen has the experience and background to thrive as Chair of this critical committee in order to deliver for the families of Ohio,” said Speaker Stephens.
