Rep. Glassburn: The Ohio House Passes Two Bipartisan Bills to Reduce Energy Cost, Improve Reliability

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Chris Glassburn (D-North Olmsted) Wednesday announced that the Ohio House of Representatives passed House Bill (HB) 303, to a establish community energy pilot program in Ohio, and Senate Bill (SB) 103, to reform ratemaking and accountability for natural gas providers. Both bills received favorable bipartisan votes on the House floor and represent a continued effort to empower consumers and modernize Ohio’s energy landscape.

Bipartisan Group of Lawmakers Demand PUCO Enforce New Utility Reliability Rules Following HB 15 Taking Effect

COLUMBUS – A bipartisan group of Ohio House members today is calling on the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) to move quickly under the state’s new utility reliability law—working together to hold FirstEnergy accountable for years of chronic outages and to deliver long-overdue improvements using the new enforcement tools in House Bill (HB) 15, which takes effect this week.

The lawmakers sent a letter to PUCO urging immediate use of HB 15’s expanded oversight powers to address chronic service failures across Ohio, with a focus on Western Cuyahoga County communities that have endured repeated outages for years.

Rep. Glassburn: GOP Budget Chooses the Wealthiest Few Over Ohio's Kids, Seniors, and Working Families

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Chris Glassburn (D-North Olmsted) today voted “NO” on House Bill (HB) 96, the Republican-crafted state operating budget, citing cruel and chaotic cuts and its abject failure to invest in children, public education, healthcare, and basic services – all while shoveling billions to the wealthy and well-connected. Under this budget, the state’s share of education is cut to 32%, the lowest in the state’s history of the 50/50 partnership.

Rep. Glassburn Announces $232K for Renovations at Brook Park Ohio Army National Guard Armory

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Chris Glassburn (D-North Olmsted) today announced the Ohio Controlling Board awarded $232,367.36 in funding to cover additional renovation costs to the Brook Park Ohio Army National Guard Armory, located in Brook Park, Ohio (Cuyahoga County). The funding will be used to address various damaged and non-working HVAC units and the related installation of new refrigerant piping per updated design.
