Rep. Russo says transportation budget moves state in right direction

Rep. Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) issued a statement following the final passage of House Bill (HB) 74, the state’s two-year transportation budget. Democrats fought against the governor’s proposed cuts to public transit funding in the bill, securing more than $221 million over the next two years, more than doubling the governor’s proposed investment.

Rep. Russo applauds passage of bill paving way for American Rescue Plan to benefit Ohio's working people and families

Rep. Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington), today applauded the House passage of Senate Bill (SB) 18, legislation to implement key provisions of the American Rescue Plan to benefit working people and middle class families, including excluding the first $10,200 in unemployment benefits from income tax for more than 2 million Ohioans who lost jobs during the pandemic as well as implementing long-held Democratic priorities to expand tax cuts for lower and working class families and expand credits for child care, among other changes.

Rep. Russo statement on Governor's veto of GOP bill that would slow pandemic response and make Ohioans less safe

Rep. Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) issued a statement on Gov. DeWine’s veto of Senate Bill (SB) 22, controversial legislation that would threaten the health and safety of Ohioans by curbing authority from the governor and health director during public health crises. Rep. Russo voted against the bill and sent the governor a letter urging his veto.

Rep. Russo reintroduces bipartisan "Madeline's Law"

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) today announced the introduction of House Bill (HB) 198, or “Madeline’s Law,” along with Rep. Susan Manchester (R-Waynesfield).  Introduced as HB 243 in the 133rd General Assembly, this legislation would expand health insurance coverage to include hearing aids for children up to the age of 21.  If enacted, the bill would require coverage of up to $2,500 per hearing aid per hearing-impaired ear every 48 months.

Rep. Russo to serve on the State Council on Educational Opportunity for Military Children

State Rep. Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) today announced her appointment to the State Council on Educational Opportunity for Military Children, a body established to advise the Department of Defense on Ohio’s compliance with the Interstate Compact of Educational Opportunity for Military Children.  Currently, all 50 states and the District of Columbia participate in the Compact, which was created to resolve educational challenges faced by military children when transferring between school districts or states.

Rep. Russo urges governor to veto GOP bill that would slow pandemic response and make Ohioans less safe

Rep. Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) today sent a letter to Governor DeWine urging his veto of Senate Bill (SB) 22, controversial legislation that would threaten the health and safety of Ohioans by curbing authority from the governor and health director during public health crises. Democrats voted in unison against the measure during House session Wednesday. It passed on party lines.

Rep. Russo statement on transportation budget passage

COLUMBUS – Rep. Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) issued a statement following the passage of House Bill (HB) 74, the state’s two-year transportation budget. Democrats fought against the governor’s proposed cuts to public transit funding in the bill, securing $193.7 million over the next two years, double the governor’s proposed investment. Rep. Russo voted in favor of the bill, which now heads to the Senate for consideration.
