Leader Russo Announces Approval of More than $8M for Ohio State Renovations and Repairs
COLUMBUS - Minority Leader Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) today announced that the Controlling Board has approved the release of more than $8M in state funding for construction projects at The Ohio State University.
“Investing in infrastructure is an essential component for providing an effective learning environment,” said Leader Russo. “These capital improvements are not only a long-term investment in our community, but an investment in Ohio’s future leaders.”
The capital funds released today will be split between the restoration of the plumbing system in the Veterinary Medical Center, renovations at Campbell Hall, and the replacement of emergency generators in Sisson Hall.
These projects will provide safe and reliable infrastructure for Ohio State students, faculty, and staff. Both Campbell Hall and the Veterinary Medical Center house much of their original structures, and these outdated facilities result in inefficient and poorly performing buildings. Plumbing improvements for the Medical Center’s hospital is especially vital as it has the potential to impact patient care and operations.
Other approved items include:
- $3M to support the creation and implementation of a Battelle Memorial Institute program to collect and destroy aqueous foam containing PFAS, commonly known as “forever chemicals.”
