COLUMBUS – State Representative Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Cleveland) today announced the introduction of the $2.1 billion capital appropriations budget for fiscal years 2021-2022 as an amendment during the Senate Bill (SB) 310 conference committee.

“While a state capital appropriations budget was far from guaranteed in the midst of the pandemic, I advocated strongly from the very beginning and across the aisle that it couldn’t be more important to build up our communities at this exact moment,” said Rep. Sweeney. “Many of these projects will create jobs and work to address long-standing issues that the pandemic has made worse. Now isn’t a time to stop investing in working people, it’s time to double down, especially when Ohio has a fiscally-responsible means to do so via very low interest bonds.”

Rep. Sweeney secured $300,ooo in funding for a number of community projects within her House District, including:

  • $100,000 for the City of Brooklyn’s Trail Project
