COLUMBUS – State Rep. Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Cleveland) today announced that the $2 billion capital re-appropriations budget for fiscal years 2023-24 has been signed into law. The legislation, House Bill (HB) 597, is a timely measure that complies with the Ohio Constitution’s two-year limit on appropriations. It was voted out of the House Finance Committee, 22-0, where Rep. Sweeney is the Ranking Member.

“HB 597 will keep previously-approved capital projects moving forward across the State of Ohio,” said Ranking Member Sweeney. “This legislation will ensure access to these dollars at a time when inflation, supply chain issues and other pandemic-related disruptions have already posed significant challenges.
