Bill Roemer News

State Rep. Bill Roemer (R-Richfield) announces House Bill 578, which includes the creation of the Revere School District license plate has been approved by the General Assembly. Roemer is the primary sponsor of the bipartisan bill.

“The Revere Local School district is among the finest K-12 schools in the state, consistently producing outstanding classes of young scholars – and not to mention some very impressive young athletes as well,” Roemer said. “For many years, I have been involved in Revere’s community as both a substitute teacher and coach, and can personally attest to their students’ record of excellence.”

Roemer notes the conception of the legislation began at the grassroots level when Revere’s superintendent, Dr. Michael Tefs, reached out to the representative requesting a specialty license plate and began collecting signatures for several months. Roemer points out the revenue from the special plate will benefit the Revere Schools Foundation, which provides scholarship opportunities for exceptional students.

After approval by the General Assembly, the bill now heads to the governor to be signed into law.
