Roemer Recognizes 160th Anniversary of Temple Israel

COLUMBUS—State Representative Bill Roemer (R-Richfield) recently recognized the 160th Anniversary of Temple Israel Akron, commemorating the occasion with a commendation from the Ohio House of Representatives. 

The Temple was initially established by 20 Jewish men in Akron who signed the constitution for a new Jewish house of worship, the Akron Hebrew Congregation. 160 years later, that institution continues serving its community as Temple Israel Akron.

“The Temple Israel holds rich history and remains a pillar of the great Akron community,” said Roemer. “It was an honor to celebrate this monumental anniversary!”
