State Rep. Bill Roemer’s (R-Richfield) has announced that KyotoCooling, a provider of water-free cooling technology for data centers, is opening a new manufacturing facility in Norton. The company, in partnership with several local stakeholders and JobsOhio, decided to expand within the 38th Ohio House District.

“I am very excited that this great collaboration is going to deliver more economic development right here in our backyard of Norton,” said Roemer. “This shows our region is competitive and I’m happy to see the expansion of jobs with this project – this will further strengthen our region’s economic opportunity and workforce for Ohio families.”

While it was noted that KyotoCooling considered other locations for its new facility, the company chose to expand in Norton due to the area’s talent pool, logistics and business-friendly environment.

The initiative was coordinated among associates from Summit County, the Greater Akron Chamber, JobsOhio and Team NEO.

The project plans to deliver 100 new jobs to the area.
