COLUMBUS – State Representative Adam Holmes’ (R-Nashport) resolution for the state to observe the United State Semiquincentennial has unanimously passed the Ohio House.

America’s 250th anniversary in Ohio will be planned, developed and coordinated through the Ohio Commission for the U.S. Semiquincentennial, which was established during the 134th General Assembly.

Holmes, who is a member of the commission, was pleased his legislation has passed the House allowing Ohio to showcase its contributions to America.

“This legislation will let Ohioans know the commission’s intentions to celebrate this monumental milestone in our nation’s history,” Holmes said. “Ohio has a storied history in the formation of our country. This commission will help tell that story while we celebrate 250 years of American history together.”

The commission will have a series of activities planned around the state leading up to the celebration of the 250th anniversary of America on July 4, 2026.
