COLUMBUS - Ohio’s 32 Appalachian counties, which include Brown and Clermont counties, are becoming center stage after the signing of House Bill 377. The measure includes the new $500 million Appalachian Community Grant Program, announced State Representative Adam Bird (R-New Richmond). 

COLUMBUS - Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed into law House Bill 583, legislation to relieve the state’s substitute teacher shortage by creating more flexible licensure.

COLUMBUS - This week, the Ohio House passed House Bill 377, legislation outlining the second round of allocations of funding from the American Rescue Plan Act. Along with the majority of his colleagues, State Representative Adam Bird (R-New Richmond) supported the bill with a ‘yes’ vote. 

COLUMBUS - The Ohio Senate Government Oversight and Reform Committee gave the stamp of approval to House Bill 340, legislation to designate September as “International Underground Railroad Month.” Bill sponsors State Representatives Adam Bird (R-New Richmond) and Willis Blackshear (D-Dayton) began legislative action in October 2021 to recognize the critical time in American history. 

COLUMBUS – Ohio schools have been a focus for State Representative Adam Bird (R-New Richmond). This week, his efforts were supported as the Ohio House’s Primary and Secondary Education Committee favorably reported two bills of which he is the primary sponsor.
