COLUMBUS, Ohio – State Representatives Matthew Kishman (R-Minerva) and Melanie Miller (R-Ashland) today announced the introduction of House Bill 648, also known as the ELDER (Ending Losses and Deception in Electronic Resources) Act. 

COLUMBUS — State Reps. Jean Schmidt (R-Loveland) and Crystal Lett (D-Columbus) today introduced a bipartisan bill that aims to prevent drink spiking incidents and inform law enforcement of trends and data related to the issue. Drink spiking is the practice of putting an illicit substance in someone’s drink without their knowledge and usually co-occurs with other crimes such as sexual violence and theft.

This legislation will establish a two-year program under which hospitals in small counties will receive increased Medicaid managed care organization (MCO) reimbursement payments.
