State Rep. Bob Young (R-Green) is highlighting this weekend as the declaration of Oct. 9 being recognized as PANDAS/PANS Awareness Day by the Governor’s Office. Young has introduced House Bill 189, which requires insurers and Medicaid to cover the PANDAS and PANS.

State Rep. Haraz N. Ghanbari, R-Perrysburg, administered the oath of office to newly promoted Colonel Charles “Chuck” Jones during a ceremony Thursday at the Patrol’s Academy in Columbus. Jones, who began his career with the Patrol in 1994 as a graduate of 126th Academy Class, becomes the Patrol’s 20th Superintendent after being appointed following the retirement of Col. Richard S. Fambro.

State Rep. Thomas Hall (R-Madison Twp.) spearheaded and was the primary sponsor of House Bill 99, which was signed into law on Monday by Gov. Mike DeWine. The reformative bill focuses on school gun and safety training. Hall joined the governor at the Department of Public Safety for the bill signing.
