COLUMBUS—State Representative Steve Hambley (R-Brunswick) this week presented a resolution honoring Brady Long on winning the 2017 National Grocers Association’s Best Bagger Championship.

An accounting student at The University of Akron and an employee at Buehler’s Fresh Foods in Medina, Long beat out 22 other baggers to secure the championship in Las Vegas, Nevada. First launched by the National Grocers Association (NGA) in 1987, the Best Bagger Championship assesses competitors on the technique, speed, and effectiveness of their bagging, as well as the quality of customer service exemplified.

Citing Mahatma Gandhi on the floor of the Ohio House, Hambley said, “‘Champions are made from something they have deep inside them – a desire, a dream, a vision.’” Brady Long, he adds, is a three time champion that projects all three of these qualities that make Medina County and all of Ohio proud of what he has accomplished.
