State Rep. Al Landis Welcomes Allstate "Ride for Awareness" Rider Nate Hudson to the Statehouse
State Representative Al Landis (R-Dover) yesterday welcomed Allstate “Ride for Awareness” rider Nate Hudson to the Ohio Statehouse to discuss the role motorists play in protecting motorcycle riders.
The 20-year motorcycle rider from California hand-delivered a proposal asking that Ohio include a question addressing the importance of sharing the road with motorcycle riders on the state driver’s license exam as part of Allstate Insurance’s “Ride for Awareness”. Landis, a fellow rider and motorcycle enthusiast, spent some time with Hudson in front of the Statehouse to discuss the proposal.
“It’s very commendable of Allstate Insurance to take this event on the road, and bring it to all 50 state capitols,” said Rep. Landis. “It was great comparing notes with Nate Hudson, and discussing how well he has been received in the states that he has visited during his trip thus far. The information that he provided will be very valuable in reviewing state policy moving forward.”
Allstate Insurance Company, a long-time advocate and resource for the riding community, is sponsoring the lone rider on the first-ever “Ride for Awareness” road trip, with Hudson crossing all 50 states to spread awareness about the vital role motorists play in protecting motorcycle riders.
The ride began on May 12th and will conclude at the end of August with stops at every state capitol. Hudson, the owner of a service shop and riding club, has logged over 200,000 miles since his first ride at age 16.
