COLUMBUS – The State Controlling Board has approved the release of funding for cabin improvements at Salt Fork State Park, State Representative Adam Holmes announced today.

The board released a total of $7.3 million for cabin improvements at Salt Fork, Lake Hope and Buck Creek state parks.

“Salt Fork is a major attraction in our region,” said Holmes (R-Nashport). “This work will not only maintain the investment Ohioans have already made in Salt Fork but keep the cabins sound for years to come.”

Salt Fork State Park offers many recreational opportunities, drawing visitors from throughout Ohio. Overnight accommodations include a family campground, lodge and conference center, in addition to 53 vacation cabins.

The cabins were built in the 1970s and only interior improvements have been done. This round of work will focus on structural improvements as needed.

Also Monday, the State Controlling Board approved the release of $10,406 for the Workforce Based Training and Equipment RAPIDS project at Zane State College. This is funding to support education and training related to industrial maintenance and additive manufacturing.
