Today, State Representative Robert McColley (R-Napoleon) presented a resolution to Seth Beard honoring him as the 2016 Division II State Wrestling Champion.

"As a graduate of Napoleon High School, it was a special privilege for me to honor Seth Beard on the House floor,” Rep. McColley said. “Seth's talents and accomplishments as NHS's first wrestling state champion have brought Napoleon and its schools great pride."

Seth was named the 2016 Division II State Wrestling Champion at the Schottenstein Center after a 6-3 win over Justin Stickley, from St. Paris Graham High School. In winning his semifinal match, he was the first wrestler in Ohio history to stop a three-time champion from winning his fourth title. He was also the first person from Napoleon to win a state title.

Seth will be attending Kent State University upon graduation, where he will be wrestling on a Division I scholarship.

Seth Beard was present along with his parents and coach to receive the resolution during the Ohio House session.
