Rep. Lorenz Highlights Highway Safety Improvement Program Awardee in Delaware County

State Representative Brian Lorenz (R-Powell) today announced that Delaware County was awarded funding through the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Improvement Program.
“This Highway Safety Program Award reflects a responsible investment in public safety and long-term infrastructure,” said Lorenz. “By improving the intersection of South Section Line Road and Clark Shaw Road with a modern roundabout, we are reducing serious crashes, improving traffic flow, and making smart use of taxpayer dollars. At a cost of $3.42 million, this project prioritizes safety, efficiency, and accountability while supporting the needs of our local community well into the future.”
In House Bill 54 – Ohio’s Transportation Budget, the General Assembly appropriated $185 million in funding each year for continued success of the program.
Roadway safety improvements funded through this round of the grant program will include roundabouts, turn lanes, intersection upgrades, more visible signs and pavement markings, and high-visibility crosswalks, sidewalks, and bike lanes.
