COLUMBUS—State Representative Jonathan Dever (R-Madeira) was named a finalist for the ”Public Sector Leadership Award” by the Greater Ohio Policy Center.

The award recognizes public servants who exemplify innovative leadership in shaping policies enabling reinvestment in communities and sustaining development in cities and regions throughout the state. Ohio House Speaker Pro-Tempore Kirk Schuring was also named a finalist.

The Greater Ohio Policy Center is recognizing Rep. Dever’s work on House Bill 463 from the previous legislative term. That legislation expedited cases on court-certified abandoned properties, giving power to local governments to manage blight and providing basic property right protections.

“I am grateful to the Greater Ohio Policy Center for their recognition on the work we did in House Bill 463. Together with dozens of interested parties, we were able to craft legislation that empowered local governments, streamlined the process, and secured additional consumer protections. I fully plan to continue to focus on these policy areas as we continue into this General Assembly,” said Dever.

Dever is in his second term serving the 28th Ohio House District in Hamilton County.
