Ohio House Passes Bill to Designate Marshal Teddy Ray Holcomb Memorial Highway
COLUMBUS—State Representatives Adam Holmes (R-Nashport) and Kevin Ritter (R-Marietta) are pleased to announce the Ohio House of Representatives unanimously passed legislation to designate a portion of State Route 13 in Athens County as Marshal Teddy Ray Holcomb Memorial Highway.
House Bill 325, championed by Holmes and Ritter, aims to honor the life and legacy of Marshal Holcomb who made the ultimate sacrifice on October 27, 1976 while responding to a call and saving the life of a fellow law enforcement officer.
“We were very honored to recognize an Ohio hero who gave his life in honor of other law enforcement officials,” said Holmes. “We hope this tribute allows his legacy to endure for generations to come.”
"Today, we were able to honor the sacrifice of Marshal Holcomb,” said Ritter. “His actions to come to the aid of his fellow officer are worthy of being remembered and celebrated."
House Bill 325 now awaits consideration from the Ohio Senate.
