Oelslager Provides Legislative Update from Ohio House

COLUMBUS—State Rep. Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton) is pleased to announce the recent passage of multiple pieces of legislation. 

Each bill is highlighted below: 

Philip Wigal’s Law (93-0): House Bill 132 will strengthen penalties for drivers who fail to comply with Ohio’s “Move Over Law.”

Establish tax refund designation for spaying, neutering pets (92-1): House Bill 148 will establish the Companion Animal Fund to allow taxpayers the option to donate a portion of their state tax refunds to help prevent pet overpopulation.

Require notice before driver's license expires, instead of after (91-2): House Bill 258 will require the Registrar of Motor Vehicles send electronic renewal notices to drivers before their license expires.

Regards filing for certificate of qualification for employment (93-0): Co-sponsored by Oelslager, House Bill 268 will allow individuals to apply for a certificate of qualification for employment one year after their release from incarceration.

Revise the real estate wholesaler law (93-0): Co-sponsored by Oelslager, Senate Bill 155 will protect Ohioans from real estate wholesaling.
