Majority Whip Santucci Highlights Building Demolition Grant

State Representative Nick Santucci (R-Niles) is pleased to share that the application period for the Demolition and Site Revitalization Program will open September 15, 2026. There is approximately $21.5 million available to help demolish dilapidated commercial and residential areas to better prepare them for incoming economic development.
“Removing blighted and dilapidated properties is an important step toward revitalizing our communities and creating new opportunities for economic development,” said Santucci. “This funding will help communities across Ohio clear barriers to investment, strengthen neighborhoods, and prepare sites for new jobs and future growth. I strongly encourage eligible communities and organizations throughout the Lake to River region to apply for these funds. By removing blight and beautifying our communities, we can make our region an even better place to raise a family, attract new businesses and investment, and ultimately bring more companies and good-paying jobs to Northeast Ohio.”
In House Bill 96, Ohio’s State Operating Budget, the General Assembly allocated $21.5 million per fiscal year for the program.
Since the inception of the program, nearly 6,700 projects have been supported across all 88 counties. To learn more and how to apply, click here.
