COLUMBUS –State Rep. Jon Cross (R-Findlay) today approved the increase of over $3.9 million in funds to the State Disaster Relief Program (SDRP) during a State Controlling Board meeting, increasing the current appropriation to more than $7.4 million.

The funds were requested as a result of the severe weather that took place on March 14, 2024, and will specifically be used towards debris removal, safety and security operations, and the reparation of municipal electric systems and municipal buildings in the Indian Lake Region.

“We must continue to support Indian Lake and the surrounding communities as they rebuild after the devastating storms that took place last month,” said Cross. “I am pleased to announce the approval of funding that will directly support recovery efforts we are continuing to implement.”

The SDRP is administered by the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Emergency Management Agency and is a reimbursement program intended to provide support to local governments for costs associated with debris removal, emergency protective measures, and permanent work.

In addition to this funding, Cross is working with his colleagues at the Ohio House to address future housing needs and ways to support small businesses that were damaged by the storms.
