State Rep. Winburn: Dr. King's Legacy Lives On

COLUMBUS—Americans from across the nation will celebrate the life and achievements of Civil Rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, January 20th. Dr. King is credited with making significant gains in the fight against segregation and racism. State Representative Roland Winburn (D-Harrison Twp.) issued the following statement in recognition of Dr. King’s legacy:

 “Few people in this world possess the fortitude to fight hate with love. Dr. King was such an awe-inspiring leader because of his determination to show people that stood in the way of racial equality and social justice unconditional love. He worked tirelessly to gain equal rights for African-Americans and is an inspiration to those of us committed to carrying on his legacy. Even 45 years after his death, Dr. King’s legacy lives on in the millions of Americans who remain committed to gaining equality for all.”
