COLUMBUS – The members of the Ohio House Jewish Caucus, State Reps. Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson), Dani Isaacsohn (D-Cincinnati) and Beryl Brown Piccolantonio (D–Gahanna), today released a message of hope and humanity as the holiday of Passover begins Monday at sundown.

“The Jewish holiday of Passover honors the Israelites’ Exodus from Egypt and their freedom from bondage. It serves as a powerful reminder that all peoples, at some point in the past or the present, have faced persecution and suffering, and that all deserve to be free. What was true as Moses led our ancestors out of Egypt is true today: every man, woman and child has the fundamental right to live a life free of fear, hatred and abuse. During these difficult days, there are people all over the world mourning tragedies, fighting to escape captivity, and seeking liberation. We will gather for Passover tonight and pray for all the innocent people yearning to be free in search of a better, more just life. Next year, may all who are suffering find peace, may all who are captive become free, and may all who are hungry come and eat,” said the Ohio House Jewish Caucus.

The Ohio House Jewish Caucus will host its second traditional Seder dinner Tuesday at the Ohio Statehouse attended by a diverse group of leaders from the General Assembly, Columbus, and Jewish communities across the state.
