COLUMBUS – House Minority Leader Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) today says the new USA TODAY Network/Suffolk University poll that shows 57% of likely Ohio voters are against Issue 1 proves there is overwhelming, bipartisan support to defeat this undemocratic attack by extremists and special interest to make it harder to amend the Ohio constitution.

“Issue 1 would shred our constitution, letting a minority of the people speak for a majority of us. That’s not who we are as a people and it’s not what democracy looks like. That’s why Ohioans are coming out in huge numbers against Issue 1,” said Leader Russo. “If you want to retain your power over politicians, keep majority rule in Ohio, and hold on to your freedom to determine your own future, you should vote NO on Issue 1.”

Along with extremely strong Democratic support, the USA TODAY Network/Suffolk University poll of 500 likely Ohio voters found that, “41% of Republicans, 60% of independents and 41% of Ohioans who voted for President Donald Trump in 2020 said they're also against it.”

House Dems are united on voting NO on the unpopular, unfair, & undemocratic Issue 1 which would end majority rule in Ohio. Get more info on making a plan to vote NO to protect our freedoms here.
