COLUMBUS – After Republican lawmakers ignored the constitutionally-set deadline for proposing congressional district maps, Senate Democratic Leader Nickie J. Antonio (D-Lakewood) and House Minority Leader Dani Isaacsohn (D-Cincinnati) sent a letter to Governor Mike DeWine today asking him to reconstitute the Ohio Redistricting Commission within the next 7 days to start the process to fulfill its constitutional obligation to produce a fair, bipartisan congressional map.

COLUMBUS — The House Democratic members on the Joint Committee on Congressional Redistricting today advocated for a hearing on House Bill (HB) 442. Monday’s first public hearing did not include a Republican proposed map. Democrats will continue to hold Republicans accountable for their attempt to tip the scales of democracy with extreme partisan gerrymandering, at the request of President Donald Trump.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Karen Brownlee (D-Symmes Twp) today announced the extension of the cosponsor request deadline for a resolution she plans to introduce in the Ohio House of Representatives urging the United States Department of Justice to release the full, unredacted files related to Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal enterprises. This resolution has the full support of the House Democratic Caucus, and no support from the House Republicans.

COLUMBUS - House Minority Leader Dani Isaacsohn (D-Cincinnati) and Senate Democratic Leader Nickie J. Antonio (D-Lakewood) today introduced legislation putting forth the fairest congressional redistricting proposal in recent years. Democrats are introducing their redistricting plan now to comply with Ohio’s September 30 deadline for the General Assembly to pass a bipartisan map.
