Representative Schmidt Announces Upcoming Capital Budget Process

COLUMBUS—State Representative Jean Schmidt (R-Loveland) today announced that the General Assembly will begin the capital budget process for fiscal years 2027-28. The capital budget is one of Ohio’s five main budgets and focuses on brick-and-mortar projects funded by state bonds.

Rep. Retherford Named "Legislator of the Year" by AMVETS

State Representative Wes Retherford (R-Hamilton) recently received the “Legislator of the Year” Award by AMVETS, an organization that assists veterans and their families upon returning home. He received the award on Saturday, February 20th during its annual mid-winter conference.

 
 

For over fifty years, the Ohio General Assembly has sponsored a legislative fellowship program through the Ohio Legislative Service Commission (LSC). The program is a thirteen-month paid fellowship that places twenty to twenty-four college graduates in various positions throughout the state legislature. Many are placed within the Ohio House and Senate, some work for LSC itself, and others are placed with Ohio Government Telecommunications.
