Rep. Ashford: Inherited Economic Recovery Has Been Squandered

COLUMBUS –Today, Gov. Kasich, Speaker Batchelder and President Faber spoke to members of the business community during a year-in-review speech at the Ohio Chamber of Commerce. State Rep. Michael Ashford (D-Toledo) released the following statement in response to today’s speech:

“When Gov. Kasich took office, he inherited 10-straight months of declining unemployment, but now our unemployment rate is higher than the national average. The rhetoric from Governor Kasich today simply doesn’t match the harsh reality of our state’s stagnant job growth. We will continue to push legislation that puts middle class families first, and we urge Gov. Kasich and legislative leaders to do the same.”
