House Democrats announce replacement process for House District 26
COLUMBUS— Ohio House Democratic Leader Emilia Strong Sykes (D-Akron) today announced the Ohio House Democratic Caucus is requesting letters of interest from individuals seeking appointment to Ohio’s 26th House District seat, which is currently vacant following the departure of former Rep. Erica C. Crawley (D-Columbus), who was sworn in as Franklin County Commissioner in July.
A screening panel of Democratic state representatives will interview applicants to make a recommendation to the 35-member minority caucus. The caucus will then appoint a qualified applicant to serve the remainder of Crawley’s term, which runs through December 2022.
Applicants should mail and email resumes and cover letters to House Democratic Chief of Staff Samantha Herd by the close of business on Friday, Sept. 3.
