Rep. Creech Champions Regional Projects, Votes in Support of Capital Budget Bill

State Representative Rodney Creech (R-West Alexandria) this week voted in support of Ohio’s Capital Budget bill, a two-year capital improvements budget for state and community projects throughout Ohio totaling nearly $4 billion.
The bill provides appropriations for state infrastructure needs, including renovations to state offices, new construction for mental health facilities, land acquisition, and equipment. The plan also includes just over $200 million for community projects, which are projects that come from outside of state agencies and have a benefit or nexus to the state.
All 88 counties will receive funding for community projects.
Rep. Creech helped secure new investments for the following community projects:
- Phillipsburg Community Park & Pickleball Court - $188,000
- Farmersville/Jackson Township Joint Park Recreation Improvements - $100,000
- Germantown Historical Society Restoration - $100,000
- Germantown Kercher Park Tennis/Pickleball Court Expansion - $400,000
- Germantown Kercher & Weber Park Improvements - $200,000
- Mound Science and Energy Museum Improvements (Miamisburg) - $200,000
- Miami View Park Improvements (Miamisburg) - $100,000
- Preble County Historical Society Agriculture Barn - $200,000
- Preble County Historical Society Collections & Facility Improvements - $200,000
- Preble County Success Academy - $150,000
- Lewisburg Soccer Park and Walking Path - $150,000
In addition to securing new funding, Representative Creech helped facilitate the reallocation of previously awarded capital dollars to support the following projects:
- Brookville Golden Gate Community Park - $150,000
- Miamisburg Historic Carnegie Building Restorations - $25,000
- Miamisburg Carnegie Building Restorations - $100,000
- Preble County Fairgrounds Stall Barns - $400,000
- Preble County Fairgrounds Multi-Purpose Community Room - $300,000
“These investments will have a lasting impact on communities across Preble and Montgomery counties,” said Rep. Creech. “Whether it is improving parks, preserving local history, supporting educational opportunities, or strengthening community facilities, this funding will help ensure our communities remain great places to live, work, and raise a family. I am especially proud that we were able to secure nearly $2 million in new capital investments for projects throughout the district while also facilitating the reallocation of nearly $1 million in previously awarded funding. Together, these investments will support projects that are ready to move forward, strengthen our communities, and deliver real benefits for local residents. This is exactly the kind of responsible stewardship taxpayers expect from their government.”
Through this bill, Ohio House Republicans prioritized investing in Ohio’s future by expanding access to education and healthcare through new facilities or upgrades to existing ones, improving parks and roadways to better connect communities, and strengthening local facilities across the state by providing necessary funding for enhancements.
This bill now heads to the Governor for consideration.
