Majority Whip Santucci Appointed to JCARR and Ohio Holocaust and Genocide Memorial and Education Commission

Majority Whip Nick Santucci (R-Niles) today announced he was recently appointed to the Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review (JCARR) and the Ohio Holocaust and Genocide Memorial and Education Commission. 

JCARR was created in 1977 by the Ohio General Assembly with a primary function to review proposed new, amended, and rescinded rules from over 100 agencies to ensure they do not exceed the rule-making authority granted to them by the General Assembly. 

The Ohio Holocaust and Genocide Memorial and Education Commission was established in December 2020 and consists of 15 members appointed by the Governor. Per statute, the Commission is charged with gathering and disseminating Holocaust and genocide educational resources and promoting awareness of issues relating to the Holocaust and genocide while advising state government officials on these relevant issues.

These roles reflect two critical missions: ensuring transparency and accountability in government rulemaking and promoting education and awareness of the Holocaust and other genocides. I look forward to serving the people of Ohio through both efforts.”
