Munira Abdullahi (D-Columbus) today honored the life and legacy of Marigene Valiquette, a Toledo Democrat who served in both the Ohio House of Representatives and Ohio Senate for 24 straight years, setting a record for the longest serving female legislator in state history.

COLUMBUS– State Reps. Cecil Thomas (D-Cincinnati) and Michele Grim (D- Toledo) today introduced legislation that would ban the possession and sale of all bump stocks for personal use in Ohio.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) today announced the release of more than $1M by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) for safety improvements at four Ohio rail crossings. These funds will be used to purchase and install flashing lights and gates with cantilevers to warn traffic of an oncoming train. 

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) today announced the Area Office of Aging and Ability Center has received $540K from the Ohio Department of Development to support the delivery of meals for seniors and the development of housing.  

COLUMBUS– State Rep. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) today announced that multiple non-profits, county, and city agencies have received nearly $900K from The Ohio Department of Public Safety, as a part of the state’s new Ohio Sexual Assault Investigations Grant Program.  Funding will be used to improve training surrounding the collection of sexual assault kits, investigations surrounding sexual assault, and supporting survivor programs across the state.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) today released the following statement concerning Ohioans’ decision to not support Issue 1 at the ballot box:  

COLUMBUS - State Rep. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) today announced that the Controlling Board has approved $1.2M under the Department of Children & Youth with the aim of combating infant mortality. The funds will be used in partnership with the non-profit organization Cribs for Kids which will provide eligible parents education on the importance of and how to practice safe sleep with their infant. Cribs for Kids will also furnish parents a product to allow them to put their baby to sleep safely and assist with practice safe sleep. 

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) today announced that the Village of Ottawa Hills has received $2.5M from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Municipal Bridge Program to replace the Evergreen Road Bridge.  

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) today announced that City of Toledo Department of Transportation and the YMCA of Greater Toledo have received $548,431 from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Safe Routes to School program, to support the construction of additional sidewalks and crosswalks surrounding schools in the Toledo area.
