Rep. McNally Congratulates Austintown Fitch High School's Designation as 2025 Purple Star Class
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce designated Austintown Fitch High School as 2025 Purple Star Class. Purple Star schools show a significant commitment to serving students and families connected to our nation’s armed forces. This is the first time that Austintown Fitch High School has received this award.
“I am so proud of Austintown’s dedication to their military families,” said Rep. McNally. “So many people choose to join the military out of dedication to our country. Their families are also serving our country by supporting their loved ones and wrestling with the anxiety of the unknown. These support systems and shared resources are so important and I am sure they are helping our military families thrive.”
Qualifications for this award include having a dedicated staff member who is the primary liaison between the school and military families, the school having a dedicated resource page for these families, and additional optional criteria.
