Rep. McNally Announces state tax Credit Approval for MAC Trailer Enterprises Inc. Expansion

COLUMBUS- State Representative Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced approved assistance from the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) for MAC Trailer Enterprises Inc., in Smith Township. Formed over twenty-five years ago, and now one of the nation’s premier manufacturers of dump, flatbed, drop-deck, transfer, dry bulk pneumatic tank, and liquid tank trailers, the MAC Trailer expansion project is expected to create 80 full-time jobs and $4 million in new annual payroll.

“Mahoning Valley is a steel town that will always have a heart for manufacturing,” said Rep. McNally. “Seeing our state invest in an Ohio manufacturer in an area still looking to reclaim lost manufacturing jobs makes an important difference.”

MAC Trailer currently generates $4.5 million in annual payroll. At its March monthly meeting, the TCA agreed to a 1.339%, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for MAC Trailer’s expansion project, after reviewing economic development proposals brought to them by JobsOhio and other regional partners. The project is one of four approvals, expected to result in $13.4 million in new payroll and more than $55.6 million in investments across Ohio.
