December 14, 2023
Lauren McNally News

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced she has joined the Ohio House of Representatives Appalachian Caucus.

“I am excited to join the Appalachian caucus because it is important that our district is seated at the table for discussions about resource allocation for the Appalachian region,” said Rep. McNally. “These resources are meant to serve people; kids, seniors, and everyone in between who live in this region. There are many opportunities including providing economic development and neighborhood revitalization support.”

The Appalachian caucus was recently re-established in a bipartisan fashion for the 135th General Assembly and convened its first meeting today. Members of the caucus represent the 32 counties in the Appalachian Region, two of which (Mahoning, Columbiana) are encompassed in Ohio’s 59th district. The caucus focus will be on coordinating efforts for capital budget projects, legislation, events, and projects that will help the Appalachian region.

Rep. McNally has consistently connected state resources to Ohio’s 59th district that are intended to support the vibrancy, health, and economic welfare of the Appalachian region, including numerous requests for funding from the Appalachian Community Grant Program such as:

Eastgate Regional Council of Governments
Youngstown Businesses (MS Consultants, Inc. and CT Consultants, Inc.)
Utica Shale Academy of Ohio
Columbiana County
Mahoning County
