COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced Youngstown will receive $293,395 in grants from the Ohio Arts Council (OAC) and the State Operating Budget (HB 96).  The OAC Board approved over $23 million in grants to support artists, nonprofits, arts organizations, culture organizations, students, educators, and public arts programing. Youngstown received grants from three categories: ArtSTART, sustainability, and TeachArtsOhio. ArtSTART grants help organizations complete short term projects.  The majority were sustainability grants that help support the operation of arts and culture activities. TeachArtsOhio grants connects schools with teaching artists to create personal and high-quality arts learning experiences.

“Art is such an important part of who we are and how we can express ourselves. These grants are a great opportunity for Youngstown. I am very excited for our students to be a part of the TeachArtsOhio and to fully experience this opportunity,” said Rep. McNally.
