Rep. McNally Announces $250K for the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that the Ohio Department of Development awarded the Mahoning Valley Manufacturer’s Coalition $250,000 grant. This grant opportunity comes from Governor DeWine’s Office of Workforce Transformation’s Industry Sector Partnership (ISP) Grant Program. The grant focuses on high-demand industries including manufacturing, construction and skilled trades, insurance, information technology, transportation, and health care. Mahoning Valley Manufacturer’s Coalition will use the grant to continue their youth outreach efforts and introduce middle school and high school students to careers in manufacturing.
“The Mahoning Valley has a strong history of manufacturing, and it is something that we should be proud of. Young people need to be exposed to all kinds of careers so that they can find a path that interests them the most,” said Rep. McNally.
The state is awarding a total of $5.07M to 22 workforce partnerships in this round of funding. The ISP program has given a total of $22.7M to 77 organizations since 2019. The program’s goal is to create strong collaboration between businesses, educators, and community groups.
